The next UB School of Architecture and Planning lecture is already upon us. Tonight, September 21st, the school invites you to see speaker Michael Conrad who will give a presentation titled “Redesigning our Food System for Health and Sustainability”. This lecture is presented in connection with the Buffalo Food Policy Summit September 20-21. Conrad is senior principal in the design firm Design+Urbanism Architectural LLC. He also teaches the International Urban Design Studio at the graduate School of Architecture and Public Planning, Columbia University and is coeditor of five books on strategies for engaging international emergent urbanism. His practice and research are focused on the development of sustainable ecological and investment systems and ways to accommodate new development models.
In response to commenters requests we have asked that UB get us the full fall schedule in advance so people can plan ahead to attend. This semester’s speaker’s theme is on social consciousness, including subjects addressing race, food systems, environment, and climate change. All lectures are open to the public and free. They are generally held at 5:30 pm room 301 in Crosby Hall on the Main Street Campus. BRO will post more detail on these lecturers and events in the future.
