RTG for a Cure is back for our second year. Once again, we will celebrate and show our support for all those that battled and continue to battle cancer, especially those afflicted by childhood forms. Hopefully, along the way we raise some money for a great cause, The Steadfast Foundation. On Saturday, September 17, 2011, community members and friends will gather to support a great cause…cancer patient support and research. The fundraiser will feature a co-ed softball tournament, co-ed kickball tournament and a Family Zone in Cazenovia Park, as well as a Regatta down the Buffalo River. The fun will then continue with an after party, from 3-7pm at Charlie O’Brien’s, which will be graciously hosted by Dino Pinelli and his staff.
The event is threefold in its mission: raise awareness and money for cancer patient support and research, promote the great recreational activities available at Cazenovia Park and the Buffalo River and celebrate the lives of those past and present that have battled cancer. It is sure to be a great day in support of a great cause. This year’s proceeds from the event will again benefit The Steadfast Foundation, founded by Buffalo Sabres goalie, Ryan Miller. Be sure to check out their mission at www.thesteadfastfoundation.com.
It is sure to be a great day to celebrate those that survived, commemorate those that have been lost and enjoy the outdoor activities available at one of Olmsted’s finest parks. Contact me here with any questions or simply visit us on Facebook, Rowin’, Throwin’ n Growin’ for a Cure.
