I remember when we first blitzed Elmwood Avenue with holiday decorations – Thunder Bay, Urban Threads, TreeHouse… each year we would head out with lights and poles and wrap the trees with white sparkling lights. That tradition started about fifteen years ago and today there is a broader base of businesses that continue to decorate the Elmwood district.
This year the Elmwood Village Association is promoting a holiday decoration fundraiser that will help to procure large street ornaments. We all love to walk down Elmwood during the festive season – the sparkling lights continue to shine, but in order to take the image to the next level money must be raised. And what better way is there to raise money than to throw a party? On Saturday, October 1st, the EVA Merchants Committee will be hosting a pre-holiday fundraiser from 2pm to 8pm at Mister Goodbar.
For just $10 at the door, supporters will get two free beer tickets, and the chance to check out a heavy line-up of local musicians (music booked by Incite A Riot). Be sure to mark your calendars and help Elmwood to outshine previous seasons. Heck, where else can you get some free beer, and listen to multiple music acts for ten bucks? Plus your money goes towards a good cause. Help make Buffalo Merrier – Deck the Heck out of the Elmwood Village!
