As if twelve hours of live music at Music is Art isn’t enough today, one of Buffalo’s all-time greatest Celtic rock groups is playing RiverFest Park from 6pm-10pm this evening. It’s a rarity when this band gets together these days, but today is a special occasion because it marks the halfway point to Saint Patrick’s Day… and in the old First Ward that’s a pretty big deal. So why not celebrate with a band that has a huge following of fans who dig fast paced and pierced Celtic rockers – especially in a setting along the Buffalo River on this beautiful September day?
Two additional bands, Landslide and Pug Mahones, will be opening for Jackdaw if that wasn’t already enough. It’s going to be a tough call where to be between 6pm and 8pm today – Delaware Park watching countless bands by Gala Waters with multiple stages, or down in the old First Ward catching a band that reunites every once in a great while (but when they do it’s not to be missed). As an added bonus:
*The Valley Community Association and Lighting Design Innovations will be again lighting up the grain elevators at the concert featuring Jackdaw at Buffalo River Fest Park this Saturday, Sept 17,2011 from 6 till 10pm. The park located on the Buffalo River at 249 Ohio Street is across the river from the GLF Elevators (formerly the Wheeler complex of elevators).
