Highlighting Buffalo’s Green Side: Gateway-Longview’s Lynde School

By Max Crinnin:

The Solar Homes and Green Buildings Tour is ALMOST HERE. On October 1, 2011 from 10am-4pm, you can go to any building on the list (see below) and learn about their green technologies. The tour is free and open to everyone. The kickoff awards party starts at 10am at the Innovation Center (details).
Today we are highlighting: Gateway-Longview’s Lynde School.
This place is AWESOME. Come visit Gateway-Longview to find out how they take care of children and families with eco-friendliness in mind. This school has provided child and family services for over a century and is dedicated towards providing the best performance possible, and one way that they are making a difference is with green technology. They have recognized the positive changes that being green can make thanks to technological advancements in 2010 when they seized the opportunity to install solar panels on their roof.

Sometimes the authors at Buffalo Rising work on collaborative efforts in order to cover various events and stories. These posts can not be attributed to one single author, as it is a combined effort. Often times a formation of a post gets started by one writer and passed along to one or more writers before completion. At times there are author attributions at the end of one of these posts. Other times, “Buffalo Rising” is simply offered up as the creator of the article. In either case, the writing is original to Buffalo Rising.
