Like hot sauce? Love chili? Are you a fan of Allentown? And live music? How ’bout supporting local farmers? This Sunday, right after the Bills game, you can do all of these things just by attending the second annual Chili Challenge hosted by a newly launched hot sauce brand called HeadStone Heat. The spicy sauce got its start thanks to a bit of trial by fire in bohemian Allentown, with inspiration from the hot local music scene and the neighborhood’s unique fiery character. Befittingly, the contest is being held at Nietszche’s – 248 Allen Street.
Entrants into the chili contest are required to incorporate at least two ingredients from a local WNY farmer’s market, meaning that the chili concoctions will be fresh and delicious. From HeadStone Heat:
All are welcome to taste chili, cast a vote and enjoy WNY’s newest hot sauce flavors from HeadStone Heat which include Tequila Lime, Mexican AfterShock & Sweet Mango Orange. Live music performed by ‘The Heavenly Chillbillies’ & Ann Philippone starting at 4:30pm. “Come out, enjoy great chili, lively music, support local business & have a great time doing it,” said Valerie Meli, owner of HeadStone Heat.
