The Bills were the last team to record their first win in 2010, starting the season with eight consecutive losses. However, the team showed improvement in the second half of the season with a record of 4-4, finishing the year at 4-12. Hopes are high for the team as the 2011 season is about to begin, and many of the Bills’ most supportive fans are members of the Monday Quarterback Club.
The Monday Quarterback Club was founded by area community leaders in 1960. It is an organization of business people that works to support the Bills and professional football in Western New York. The Club hosts five luncheons during the season. The luncheon programs feature a prominent guest speaker or two, usually current or former Bills. Local sports reporters are also frequent speakers. In addition, the Club holds various other special events throughout the year, including the Bills Players’ Award luncheon at the end of the season. The MQC is a great way for diehard Bills fans to get an inside perspective on what happening with the team.
The Monday Quarterback Club is holding its annual New Member Night event at the Protocol Restaurant, 6766 Transit Road, Williamsville, NY on Tuesday, August 30th starting at 6 p.m. New Member Night is a way for the MQC to introduce prospective members to what the club has to offer Bills fans.
Paul Maguire, former Buffalo Bill and ESPN football analyst will be the guest speaker that evening. WKBW Channel 7 Sports Director Jeff Russo will be emcee. Other Bills alumni and guests will also be in attendance. Existing MQC members can attend for free, and guests are pay just $15, which can be applied to membership dues that evening. A buffet is included, and there will be a cash bar.
Those interested in attending this event and joining the Monday Quarterback Club can call 693-3807 or visit the Club web site at www.mondayqbc.com.
