Gift Giving Made Easy: Elmwood Village Gift Certificates

With so many new businesses popping up in and around Elmwood, it can be tough to figure out just where to go to purchase gift certificates, especially if you have a picky friend or family member. It was three years ago when the Elmwood Village Association (EVA)  teamed up with Evans Bank in order to start up an Elmwood Village gift certificate program, and today there are upwards of 70 shops and restaurants that participate. “The certificates can be purchased at the Evans Bank branch found at the corner of Elmwood and Delavan,” Becky Gandour (Business Director EVA) told me. “Or they can be purchased at the EVA website. We’ve been running this program for three years now. The program was designed as an initiative to keep money local. Our stores and restaurants need to stay competitive with the malls, which also offer gift certificate programs.”

Gift certificates can be purchased online or at the Evans Bank branch located at 925 Elmwood Avenue, Monday-Friday (9:00am-5:00pm) and Saturday (9:00am-1:00pm). Please note, the bank is only able to accept cash or checks. A photo ID is also required. Gift certificates may also be purchased over the phone by calling Evans Bank at (716) 882-7788. If you purchase by phone, you will be asked to mail a check and copy of your photo ID. Please allow 2-3 business days for processing. Gift Certificates of sums larger than $50, will be delivered in denominations of a maximum of $50.
