The Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society (BECHS) is teaming up with one or more of the area’s food trucks. Next Thursday will be the first day that The Roaming Buffalo will be parked at the museum during lunch hours, serving up burgers, beef on weck, wings, fries and desserts, featuring local favorites such as Sahlen’s, Miller’s, Weber’s, Frank’s, etc.
The idea to team up with the food truck was hatched when it was suggested that the BECHS open a cafe so that visitors could enjoy food and drinks out on the portico overlooking the Japanese Gardens and Mirror Lake. Since the museum is not equipped to prepare and serve food and drinks, it only made sense to take the easy road and team up with one of the food trucks.
The museum is also contemplating using the new Thursday lunch offering to draw traffic to its exhibits. Maybe even bring a few of the exhibits outdoors for people to see. Wouldn’t it be cool to learn something about Buffalo history while enjoying some of the city’s finest food? You never know… some of Buffalo’s finest musicians might even entertain the idea of performing on Thursdays ala Party on the Portico? Regardless, there will be tables and chairs set up on the portico – everything else will be provided by The Roaming Buffalo Food Truck. See you for lunch at the BECHS next Thursday.
