Four Concerts to Wrap Up BPO Season

The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra is wrapping up its 75th Anniversary Season this weekend and next.  This weekend, Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus joins the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra in two performances of Verdi’s Requiem, conducted by JoAnn Falletta and guest artists Angela Brown, Ann McMahan Quintero, Bryan Register and Jason Grant.  Saturday’s concert begins at 8 PM with a Sunday matinee at 2:30.

The Music of Elvis with Kraig Parker concert is Friday, June 10 at 8 PM, sponsored by Ecology and Environment Inc.

The Duke Ellington Orchestra wraps up the season on Saturday June 11 at 8 PM.  Duke Ellington is one of the greatest figures in the history of jazz, though his music stretched into various other genres, including blues, gospel, movie soundtracks, popular, and classical. Since his death in 1974, the Duke Ellington Orchestra has continued to preserve the legacy of one of America’s great composers.

The orchestra is not taking the summer off.  A series of special events throughout the community are planned.  See www.bpo.org for more information.
