The Buffalo Society of Artists is celebrating its 120th Anniversary this year

The Buffalo Society of Artists is celebrating its 120th Anniversary this year, with the Spring Exhibition launching this historic milestone. The Society announced awards at the Spring Show opening reception on Friday, May 6th. For those who may not be aware, our organization boasts 23 living past presidents who graciously created the Past President’s Award, which is our prestigious First Place award for this show.

First  place was awarded to James Sedwick, Self Portrait with Amaryllis, Photography. Additional awards were donated by Meridian Wealth Management,  Denver, Colorado, Russ and Anita Easter, Williamsville, Socrates Educational Consultants, Williamsville, Magavern and Magavern, LLP, Buffalo and Elmwood Framing and Interiors of Buffalo.  These prizes were awarded to Catherine P. O’Neill, Watercolor; John Parascak, Photography; Anita Easter, Photography and Kathleen West-Hennahane, Printmaking.

The exhibition was juried by Melissa Bennett, Curator of Contemporary Art, Art Gallery of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

The show continues through May 27th at Western New York Artists Group, One Linwood Avenue.
