Forest Lawn’s Second Annual Muster In The Meadow Takes Place This Sunday!

Interested in Civil War history?  Want to learn more about the many connections Buffalo has to what some believe was the most important conflict in our country’s history?  Then stop by Forest Lawn, 1411 Delaware Avenue in Buffalo on Sunday, May 29 between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm for the second annual Muster In The Meadow, a day-long, family-friendly educational and entertaining event.  Admission is FREE and there’s FREE parking and shuttle service from Canisius College.

More than 300 re-enactors from across the U.S. and Canada will be on hand to offer exhibits, demonstrations, drills and more! 

You’ll have a chance to meet President and Mrs. Abraham Lincoln, President Millard Fillmore, Colonel Daniel D. Bidwell, Franklin Alberger (Buffalo’s mayor during the Civil War), Ely S. Parker, Harriet Tubman, Maria Love and others.

Join us for a parade, the re-dedication of the plaque honoring the 14 U.S. Colored Troop soldiers buried at Forest Lawn, a re-enactment of the mustering of the 49th NYVI (the public is welcome to participate), free horse and carriage rides and more – the day is full of events and activities the whole family will enjoy!
