After just two weeks of preparing for its newest location, Chow Chocolat opened its doors on Elmwood Avenue this morning bright and early (see back story). Coffee lovers will delight in knowing that the chocolate-inspired cafe opens at 7am and closes at 10pm, offering early risers a chance to get up and get their caffeine fix… and those getting out of work late a chance to pick up treats for their honeys on the way home. Co-owner Scott Wisz told me that he is anticipating a crowd that likes to sample the finer things in life without being rushed. After taking one look around, you might just ask yourself, “Why would I ever want to leave?”
Customers can enjoy coffee, tea, espresso and chocolate elixirs while lounging about on comfy pillows in the front window. How ’bout that vegan mocha? Or the vixen spicy? Or maybe the caramel macchiato! One look at the menu board is enough to send anyone into a mouth frothing frenzy. Of course the chocolatier also offers a number of hand-dipped chocolates, trays of dessert-like pastries… and Chow Chocolat even offers WiFi in a setting that is as decadent as the homemade treats. As much as I was excited to visit Chow Chocolat this morning, I can’t wait to see what the place looks like at night. This is certainly a welcome addition to an ever-evolving street.
Open seven days a week. Hours may vary depending on the day…
Spanish Proverb: “Las cosas claras y el chocolate espeso.” – Ideas should be clear and chocolate thick.
