The company Naked Buffalo is offering a wide variety of tours of the Buffalo area and has released the 2011 schedule of tours set to begin on April 9th.
The company which originally started by showing one tour of Mafia sites in Niagara Falls has expanded to offer eight historical tours in Buffalo. The tours are meant to “reveal the fun underbelly of Buffalo history”.
“We were already presenting material that no one else has covered, and we needed a name that really showed we were different. We think we have that now,” said company co-founder Michael Rizzo.
The current lineup of tours includes the Glory Days of Shopping which is a tour of former shopping district based on the book “Nine Nine Eight”. The tour called Allentown & FBI will take you through the historic crime sites in Allentown. Political Corruption & Organized Crime is a walking tour of corrupt mayors and organized crime in the area.
The Roseland tour is a walking tour of the West Side where you will see homes, FBI sites, and an infamous murder site. If you want to explore the Erie Canal, the Real Erie Canal tour will show you the history of the canal and its people. Deadly Nights is a bus tour of suspected Mafia murders in Buffalo. The Brewery Legacy tour is a bus tour of the former breweries in Buffalo. However, the original Mob Tour that started it all is available to see the mob sites in Niagara Falls.
The company is also getting ready for two audio tours for the new iPhone app Geotrio, which allows for self guided tours around the world.
