Buffalo State College Presents Runway 4.0

On Saturday, April 16, the Buffalo State College Fashion Department will be hosting its annual Fashion show, entitled Runway 4.0.
Presenting designers include this year’s Fashion Department seniors, fiber design students, alumni and local designers.  The event will be split into two separate shows, both taking place in the Pierce Arrow Building at 1685 Elmwood Avenue.
The first show will begin at 4 p.m. with doors opening at 3 p.m.  General admission tickets for the early show are priced at $20, with student admission set at $10.  These tickets can be picked up at the Rockwell Hall Box office on campus or by calling 878-3005.
The second show will begin at 8:30 p.m.  Doors will open at 7 p.m. and guests can take part in the “high fashion carpet pre-show party” while they wait for the designers to take the runway.  There will be a cash bar, music, a New Era photo booth, raffle, and art exhibits going on during this time.
There are three ticket categories for the second show.  VIP tickets, priced at $100, will get you access to the VIP lounge designed by none other than BSC interior design students.  VIP ticket holders will also be served hors d’oeuvres by the BSC Hospitality Department and a selection of wine and beers.  They will be granted reserve seating and will take home their very own Runway 4.0 “swag bag.”  These tickets can be purchased by calling 878-6018 or by sending a check made out to “Buffalo State College Foundation, memo “Runway Support Fund” – #311144″ to the following address:

I moved to Buffalo to attend Canisius College in 2007 and began writing for Buffalo Rising as a journalism intern in 2010. Working with Newell and meeting numerous entrepreneurs, activists and everyday folks who were working to make their city better made a huge impact on my decision to stay here. After witnessing all the positive development and grassroots initiatives happening in neighborhoods throughout the city, I was inspired to pursue a term of service in AmeriCorps and a career in Buffalo's non-profit sector. I currently work in the housing department at the Lt. Col. Matt Urban Human Services Center of WNY and am excited to be a part of their ongoing efforts to revitalize the Broadway Fillmore neighborhood. I also volunteer as the project coordinator for Artfarms Buffalo. I continue to write for Buffalo Rising because I love having the opportunity to stay connected to those working toward positive changes for the Queen City.
