Seeing the Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens in a different light is definitely true of the very successful NIGHT LIGHTS at The Gardens – a creative and intelligent light show that has transformed the amazing building and plants. Last week’s opening weekend attracted over 800 people, including 325 folks during Saturday night’s mini-snowstorm. The show continues tonight for its weekend run at 6:00 p.m.
“People are absolutely loving NIGHT LIGHTS. We are thrilled with not only the number of people who have attended the show, but visitors who maybe discovering us for the first time,” said Erin Grajek, Marketing Director of the Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens. “NIGHT LIGHTS was a creative way to attract visitors to experience wonderful facility and collection.”
NIGHT LIGHTS at The Gardens current hours can be found on the following website – its final week is Thursday, February 17th to Saturday, February 19th… don’t miss it! The show runs from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. For event information, visit www.buffalogardens.com.
The pictures pretty much speak for themselves. Every room in the Gardens has a creative lighting scheme, some pertaining to the natural colors and tones of the horticulture. Some of the domes are nothing short of breath-taking, with sprays of colorful lights shining on the plants and illuminating the magnificent glass dome over 60 feet above. Along the way, there are two interactive zones, where visitors can play with the lighting scheme with a controller, and by playing a drum into a microphone. The lighting designers SitlerHQ and Volt Vision, Inc. get the kudos for the transformation of one of Buffalo’s treasures.
