Country music legend Willie Nelson’s daughter Paula, who has been named one of Great American Country’s (GAC) top ten video artists, is scheduled to headline a special night of performances to benefit Mercy Flight Western New York this Saturday, December 18th, at Babeville Asbury Hall, the home of Folk sensation and national recording artist Ani Difranco and her record label, Righteous Babe Records.
Patriot Energy Services LLC will help sponsor the concert that is the finale of several shows Nelson will perform in Western New York this week.
Starting on Thursday, Nelson will play at McGavin’s in Alden, followed by what is sure to be a special show on Friday at Sportsmen’s Tavern in Buffalo, a home to packed-house country music shows for years.
Steven C. Johnson, CEO of Patriot Energy Services LLC, said, “When I realized that Paula Nelson and her father Willie Nelson have such a passion for green renewable energy, I reached out to her for help and found that she was more than happy to help the cause for Mercy Flight of western New York.”
Tickets are $20 at the door and all Friends of Mercy Flight can visit www.mercyflight.org and download an $8 coupon for Saturday night’s show.
“It’s people like Steve Johnson, Paula Nelson and Western New Yorkers who will pack this weekend’s concert that keep us in the air,” said Douglas Baker, President of Mercy Flight Western New York.
There will be special guest appearances during the three night Western New York tour which include New York City based singer/songwriter Valerie Mize and percussionist/producer Tony Miranda, who is known for his work on albums and tours with Madonna, Neil Diamond, Natalie Cole and others.
Even though Paula Nelson‘s roots are buried deep in a legendary country music family, she truly defined herself with energy and undeniable talent. She recently claimed number 6 in the GAC picks with “Have You Ever Seen the Rain,” performed with her father.
“We’re really excited about this event,” added Jeff Mendola, Director of Development with Mercy Flight WNY. “How can you beat a great performance at a great venue for a great cause?”
