As a way to celebrate the Lighter, Quicker Cheaper concept for the Inner Harbor, waterfront activist Mark Goldman is throwing a party at Allen Street Hardware Cafe in Allentown one week from today. Stop by and raise a pint of Canalside Ale – a beer brewed specifically for the occasion. Mark is calling this a ‘New Day’ for the waterfront, and is anticipating a growing movement where community involvement is not just idle talk, but rather an integral component of the process.
Come join in on the fun December 16th starting at 9pm. “This is an important event in the life of our city,” Mark stated in an email. “And we want to
celebrate it. So, next Thursday, at the Allen Street Hardware
Cafe, we’re having a party with food, music and a beer brewed specially
for this occasion: Canalside Ale. Musical entertainment will consist of The Canal Street String Band, The Doug Yeomans “Back to the Roots
Quintet” and powerful vocals by our own Rick Smith.”
I look forward to this event, and more down the road. Maybe next year Mark will announce an even lighter version of Canalside Ale, served up even quicker and cheaper… this could be an interesting trend.
