On Tuesday, November 16 at 8 p.m., the doors of Nietzsche’s will open for the Altercation Punk Comedy Tour, presented by Doin’ Time Comedy.
The show will bring headliner J.T. Habersaat to the stage for an evening of comedy from the underground. Habersaat is the publisher of Altercation Magazine, an independent publication that has been one of the main sources of underground music news for over 10 years. The magazine was created in 1999 with the intent of offering some publicity to punk and indie musicians. Altercation has since featured artists ranging from Lou Reed to Billy Idol and Social Distortion.
Habersaat has been performing standup comedy since he first took the stage in New York City at the age of 16. He has made appearances on Comedy Central, Troma Films and the Vans Warped Tour, working with artists including Doug Stanhope, Janeane Garofalo and Henry Rollins. He was also slated for MC of the 2010 Punk Rock Bowling Awards in Las Vegas.
Performing alongside Habersaat will be special guests Eric Lingenfelter, Chris Cubas, Jake Flores and Joe Staats. The show will also feature a set of heavy metal spoken word by Duncan Wilder Johnson.
Buffalo will be just one of many stops on the Altercation Comedy fall 2010 national tour. The show has already hit Texas, making a stop at the Fun Fun Fun Fest 2010 in Austin to share the stage with Weird Al, Bad Religion and Devo. The tour will continue throughout the east through the end of November.Tickets to the show will be $7 at the door.
