Come rain, shine or wind, the organizers at the National Buffalo Wing Festival have made arrangements to insure that guests will still have a great time and plenty of opportunity to chow down on wings from more than 40 restaurants.
In past years, Wing Fest (as the locals call it), has caught the tail end of hurricane weather, and seen temperatures so high, attendees may have felt like wings in a fryer themselves. This year, mild temps and a little wind won’t slow down any of the festivals 90,000+ visitors, who come here from all over the country to ‘get their wing on’. Right now, there isn’t a hotel room available from downtown to the airport as wing fans from PA, OH, downstate, Canada, and–according to records the festival keeps–45 other states (making Arkansas, the home of Tyson Chicken, the only “no show” last year) pack the city with their enthusiasm and passion for Buffalo’s most iconic food offering.
So come down to the Bisons’ Coca-Cola Field and have some wings and enjoy one of Western New York’s largest annual attractions. The fest runs today and tomorrow and is a fun family event.
