All summer we’ve been chatting up Can You Can?, a taste-off and canning swap all in one. It’s just a few days away now, but we thought we’d post one last announcement for those of you that have been up to your eyeballs in processing during the heart of theharvest season.
There are only a couple of openings available and it’s free to attend, but pre-registration is required. You can hop over to our ticketing website to see the details.
Many thanks to our host Chef Deb Clark of Delish, who has not only opened her demonstration kitchen to us, but is also acting as a judge. Joining her will be radio personality and host of Nickel City Chef, WBFO 88.7 FM’s own Bert Gambini, along with the very talented Debra Dechert, Buffalo’s most favorite (and famous) canner. Dechert’s line of pickles, relishes, peppers and more – called “Deb’s Delight’s” – can be found on store shelves all over WNY. She’s also won her own fair share of awards.
Prizes will be given to the winners of each category, but we’ll all win, really, since swappers will leave with two jars from the pantry of a fellow canner. It should be good fun, but the proof is in pickle!
