Portico-a-go-go

By: Ann Marie Awad

The Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society‘s Party on The Portico summer season is starting up with a bang. John & Mary & the Valkyries are heading up the series tomorrow night.

John & Mary have played together for decades, releasing the their first album, Victory Gardens, in 1990. The band has collaborated with the likes of Joey Molland and Alex Chilton. So, needless to say, they’re kind of a big deal. As John & Mary & The Valkyries, they are backed by a Buffalo
all-star band, including Nelson Starr, Pat Kane, Rob Lynch, Doug Yeomans, Kent Webber and Joe
Rozler.

The 21 and over event costs only $5 for members, $10 for non-members. It starts at 5:00 PM and goes until 8:00, perfect for grabbing dinner before hand and heading out for a couple drinks afterward, if you even still need them.
