On Wednesday June 16th, Elmwood Avenue will be showcasing an evening of vintage cars that will line the street for spectators and shoppers. The event is designed to showcase, not only the cars, but also the businesses located on the stretch of the street between West Utica and Bryant. The idea originated in 2008 when the Elmwood Village Association decided to promote a Euro Car Classic. Since that time, the show has evolved to encompass all vintage cars, thus attracting a wider audience while showing a broader range of vehicles.
The event is now considered a cruise night where classic car owners are being invited to bring their prized possessions to Elmwood for a few hours. The restaurant patios will be in full swing and live music is being planned along with shopping and food specials. If you are the owner of a vintage vehicle and would like to bring it down for the evening, please call the Elmwood Village Association at (716) 881- 0707 – registration is free. If you don’t have time to leave your car for a few hours, then try to drive it down the street during the show and give the spectators a glimpse of your ride (5:30pm to 8:00pm). I’m sure that the crowd would also love to see some of the vintage scooters and kit cars show up too!
