So we hear President Obama is coming to town, and our first thought when we heard this was—where will he eat? Okay, so we’re admittedly a little single-minded over here in the Dining section, but with so much good food to eat here in Buffalo, it’s a thought that is weighing heavily on our minds.
Our predicament is: Do we take the President to sample some of Buffalo’s quintessential blue collar cuisine with deep roots in our region’s ethnic foodways, or do we want to show off our bright and sparkly fine dining establishments? Is it a question of proving that we cut the mustard when compared to some of the country’s finest restaurants (which certainly the President has dined at his fair share of) or do we show our history, the thing that really sets our part of the country apart culinarily?
So, it’s your call. You tell us–where would you take Obama? Do you go for classic or contemporary, simple and homey or high-end and honed? Finally, if the President could only stop for takeout (something he seems to have a penchant for), where would you suggest he go?
And please let’s assume that chicken wings are probably on his ‘to do’ list and avoid the tired wing debate.
