Buffalo Rock Fest @ LaSalle Park

Finally the reins at LaSalle Park appear to loosening as we are seeing a few music festivals popping up. In past years the Rick James Memorial Concert has been a big hit, drawing hundreds of music fans down to on one of the most underutilized waterfront assets in the city – the Junior League Pavilion. There had been rumors floating around that the Rick James affair had sparked interest from other promoters, though the park lacked enough representation at the Council level to get anything moving, or so I hear.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, July 4th, when a series of tribute bands (KISS, Ozzy Osbourne, Pink Floyd) will kick off at 3pm, rocking your world until 10pm when an 800 shell firework display will let loose. The organizers will be selling food, beer, pop (soda) and merchandise at the show – presale tix are $5.50 (kids under 12 free)… that’s pretty cheap! Click here for further details and how to purchase your tix.
