The Neighborhood Collective is full once again. Friday evening marked the grand opening of a ‘New to You’ (new and second hand clothing) shop called Second Chic. The clothing boutique is located in Annie Adams’ modern build-out situated behind Juniper Restaurant (across the street from The Lexington Co-op). The initial reaction of those walking into the collective for the first time tends be that of surprise. Many of the openings and post-parties include receptions in the common area, with DJs, food and drinks. It’s an eye-opening introduction to a few of the city’s talented artists and entrepreneurs.
Second Chic is a clean, bright, welcoming space, which capitalizes on being the sole clothing component in the building. Combined with Annie Adams’ jewelry studio found across the hall and Studio 806 spa in the back, there’s a nice array of pampering to be found. Judging from the reaction of the shoppers, the addition of Second Chic brings a very affordable clothing option to a younger generation of girls who will be happy to walk out of this chic boutique with a few extra dollars in their handbags.
