room, with a view on Hertel

The owners of home décor boutique room, Michael Poczkalski & David Brugh have opened the doors to another room, their new flagship store on Hertel Avenue.  The boutique on Elmwood Avenue is now devoted to baby décor and seasonal finds. Comfortably contemporary in home décor, room has evolved, to become a large furniture store in the heart of Buffalo’s Little Italy as it delivers world class design experience.

The new space at 1400 Hertel Avenue is extraordinary. In what was the original building that once housed a Woolworth’s, many aspects of the original architecture have been restored with a labor of love, and love it you will.  Upon entering the vast showroom, your senses come alive with the aroma of scented soy candles while spectacular chandeliers capture your attention and highlight the artful display of classic modern furniture and style, floor to ceiling.

The evidence is clear; room is a shopping destination comparable to those found in metropolitan cities.  Exclusive sought after lines such as Mitchell Gold, Kartell, Gus* Modern and Nuevo are available locally, at greater value in comparison to cities like Toronto and New York.  It is no longer necessary to venture outside of Buffalo to access the latest in dwelling design.

In fact, room itself has been sought as a retailer for Calvin Klein’s up and coming new line of furniture this summer, a statement only 100 stores can boast throughout North America.  The style scouts at Calvin Klein thus confirm that room has grown to establish its brand as a true furniture store. “…Confirming that Buffalo too has grown”, says room Product Specialist Andrew:  “room isn’t getting Calvin Klein, Buffalo is.”

It’s a great spot in the city to introduce urban lounge trends, the latest of which incorporate menswear fashion in the furniture, with classic tweeds and twills in colors like cream and gray.  With over 300 fabrics available on site, room is able to customize pieces according to your own personal aesthetic taste.

More than just a furniture store, coupled with the creative talents of  Michael P. & David B., room is a resource center for design that can beautifully transform any space for anyone. Expect to receive outstanding customer service that is tailored to meet each individual, uniquely.  Room may be bigger, however when it comes to style and design, no vision is too small, no budget is too small and no room is too small.
