Style mavens… mark your calendars! Apple’s Haberdashery is set to host a women’s luxury apparel sale March 26-27 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the shop’s location within the Tri-Main Center.
An antique and vintage wardrobe salon, Apple’s Haberdashery will partner with Moda vintage store of Buffalo and Baliza Ladies Clothing of Columbus, OH for a special wardrobe weekend, featuring discounts on fine ladies clothing, Italian leather and high-end vintage jewelry dating from both ends of the 20th century.
Both Apple’s Haberdashery and Moda specialize in rare vintage costume jewelry and accessories that are apart of collections coveted by celebrity stylists, such as Carole Tannenbaum, vintage stylist for First Lady Michelle Obama. Baliza, on the other hand, specializes in high quality European Couture imported from Italy and Turkey, with LaSagrada and Rossini as two of their primary clothing lines. Together, these stores are offering vintage collectors and enthusiastic shoppers a one-two punch this weekend that shouldn’t be missed.
To help ensure your shopping experience is a success and that you leave looking like the next Audrey Hepburn or Bianca Jagger, wardrobe professionals will be available for personal consultations. However, if you’re the type that hates vying for items amongst a bevy of other shoppers, you are in luck! Free, private appointments are available for shoppers to browse and throw money down at their own spending leisure (act quick – this is limited!).
Most notably, partial proceeds from this sale will be donated to “The Gift at Pearl”, a concert to benefit the future of the children of fallen Buffalo firefighter Jonathan Croom.
For those unfamiliar with Apple’s Haberdashery, I would suggest checking out Spiced Apples, the store’s interactive companion and the blog of owner and self-proclaimed Vintage Enthusiast Allita Lee. Dubbed a “Lifestyle Forum for Vintage and Antique Enthusiasts,” this blog “showcases vintage and antique collecting as a lifestyle, gives tips for ‘making good’ with found objects and offers advice to those seeking a greener earth through the simple act of repurposing.”
The green aspect of collecting vintage and antique pieces is one of those often-overlooked bonuses to this kind of shopping. Not to mention, for those, like myself, who enjoy standing apart from a crowd, you can’t get more “one-of-a-kind” than this.
“I rarely leave my home without adorning a piece a history,” Allita states on her blog. “I’ve discovered that acquiring vintage and antique lovelies is indeed a lifestyle.”
I’m with you, Allita. For those looking to enhance your already-unique style or to begin collecting some pieces, all while being kind to Mother Earth in the process, this sale is meant for you.
