Meszaros International Center of Entrepreneurship

On Saturday, March 27 Meszaros International Center of Entrepreneurship (MICE) will hold a
Youth Entrepreneur Training Program graduation ceremony for 40 students from Buffalo and Western New York, from 9:00am-2:00pm at Hutch Tech High School, 256 South Elmwood Avenue.

Les Meszaros is the driving force behind this unique third year program
– a program that equips students with the ability to enter the real
world if they choose not to move on to pursue a higher education. Les, a former CEO who has had the opportunity to conduct business with the likes of Intel, and has also partnered with a faculty member at the University at Buffalo School of Management.  In the program’s two previous sessions, over ninety applicants attended the course from nineteen different schools within Erie County, eighty of whom were successful graduates.

Many of these students who enter into the program come from economically and academically disadvantaged backgrounds. One of the main goals of this program is to keep bright young people in WNY colleges after graduating from high schools. But, if they choose to not seek higher forms of education, the training program gives them the tools they require to start a successful business. “This program is a tremendous opportunity for me to be able to build a
business,” said Pete Calabrese Smith, a graduating student. “I don’t
want to leave my family in Buffalo.  Hopefully completion of the ETP
experience will keep me here in Western New York.”

The MICE program helps launch high school students to a new framework of life and motivates them to plan, prioritize and pursue their own dreams. The program is organized  and run by business professionals who understand the urgent need to educate young people, with the goal of keeping them and their expanded business skills in WNY.
