The City of Buffalo Animal Shelter invites everyone to attend their “4th Annual Ground Dog Day Open House” from 11:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M on Saturday, January 30. The celebration will be held at the shelter, 380 N. Oak Street, Buffalo.
Punxsutawney Phil, the famous four-legged barometer, won’t be the only deciding factor if winter sticks around for another six weeks. LoveJoy Lulu, a former resident of the Buffalo Animal Shelter, will return once again to make the predication for Buffalo (hopefully for an early Spring).
“LuLu is a female Chihuahua that was adopted from the shelter,” said Holly Wentlent, a shelter volunteer. “This will be the fourth year of the event and even Councilman Fontana comes down dressed in a top hat to read the proclamation.”
Enjoy refreshments and learn first-hand, from shelter volunteers, the process of adoption. Visitors will even have the opportunity to meet adorably adoptable dogs and cats.
The City of Buffalo Animal Shelter is dedicated to caring and providing for animals. This family-friendly event will educate the community about their rescues and animal control procedures.
If interested in attending and making a donation to the shelter consider bringing leashes, collars, dog treats, kitty litter, or cat toys.
