Ever thought about extending your bike riding season throughout the winter? There are a bunch of people out riding the streets even with recent snow accumulation. I took a short ride last night and the trek reaffirmed why I don’t go out more often – even with the right equipment. There are others though, who relish the opportunity to take their bikes out onto the wintery streets. These are the people who, for whatever reason, don’t want bike season to end, or completely rely on two wheels as a form of all season transportation.
For anyone who has wanted to bike in the snow, Green Options Buffalo has dreamed up a workshop that is geared towards bike winterization. It’s a chance to hang out with people whom you might otherwise think of as insane… the bike riders who are fearless when it comes to cold temperatures and ice caked roads. But… if you’re gonna get into the recreation when the snow flies, then you better be prepared for what’s in store. Just grab your gear and head to this GO Buffalo Winter Bike Workshop. Winter is here, is your bike ready for the sleet, snow, ice and salt? If you answered no, then the place you need to be this January is the GO Buffalo Winter Bike Workshop. Winterize your own bike or select one if our fine bicycles to fix up for yourself. The workshop will consist of three sessions at the Buffalo Blue Bikes shop (98 Colvin Ave.) No prior experience needed. Experienced mechanics, supplies, tools and bikes will be provided. If interested, RSVP to mike@greenoptionsbuffalo.org by January 10th. Dates will be determined after registration. $20 donation.
