Smart, Green, and Clean for the Great Lakes

Buffalo Niagara Riverkeeper and Citizens Campaign for the Environment are co-sponsoring A Clean Water Network Regional Caucus at the Hyatt Regency from October 22nd-23rd, with support from the NY Environmental Facilities Corporation.

National experts will convene at the Hyatt for panel discussions focusing, on 21st Century water management of the Great Lakes in general while specifically looking at the benefits of green infrastructure, ‘Smart, Green, &
Clean’ approaches to water management, legislative vehicles at all levels of
government, and Federal funding opportunities. Case studies, including
successes in Cleveland and Toledo, as well as Buffalo, will be presented. Panel
discussions will begin with expert speakers, but half of the conference will be devoted
to Q & A from the audience.

A full agenda can be found here: http://www.cleanwaternetwork.org/files/SGCCaucus_NY.pdf

An
environmental justice grant enables any member of a community-based
organization to attend a panel discussion for free. Members of the general public
can attend single discussions for free as well, but the full two-day conference
carries a fee of $65. Pre-registration is required and can be done on the Clean Water Network website.

Sometimes the authors at Buffalo Rising work on collaborative efforts in order to cover various events and stories. These posts can not be attributed to one single author, as it is a combined effort. Often times a formation of a post gets started by one writer and passed along to one or more writers before completion. At times there are author attributions at the end of one of these posts. Other times, “Buffalo Rising” is simply offered up as the creator of the article. In either case, the writing is original to Buffalo Rising.
