It’s almost
that time of year. You can almost hear the oompah beat, smell the German
sausages cooking, and see a crowd dancing in traditional Bavarian
clothing.
Buffalo’s
oldest Ukrainian social club, the Ukrainian-American Civic Center, 205 Military Road in Black Rock, is hosting their annual Oktoberfest Celebration on Friday, September 18.
This year’s celebration will feature music by one of Western New York’s premier
German bands, The Auslanders.
Traditional
Oktoberfest food will be served, prepared by Buffalo’s legendary Eric
Spar. Eric will be offering Bratwurst and Pork Roast dinners
(with German potato salad and sauerkraut) and Bratwurst on a Bun. While you’re
there, come sample unique Ukrainian and German beers and liquors available at
the Club’s full-service lounge.
The kitchen
opens at 6PM, and the music and dancing with The Auslanders starts at 7PM and goes until 11. Grab your lederhosen
and dirndls, and come on and join the party.
$7 cover; all ages; 21+ with ID for bar. Parking
is free in the lot at the corner of Grote and Military.
