Summer is winding down, friends. But that doesn’t mean the outdoor events are over yet! Here’s what we have on tap this weekend.
Thursday, September 3rd
Friday, September 4th
-Grammy Award winners The Wallflowers will perform at Buffalo Rocks the Harbor with Tea Leaf Green and Butterfly Boucher. Show runs from 5 PM to 11 PM. Tickets are $10 in advance, $20 day of show.
-A new bar called Social will hold its Grand Opening at 10 PM. Located at 228 Franklin Street, Social features an open “Miami Style” patio, dancing, live music, and a DJ. Live music kicks off Wednesday, September 9th with the Strictly Hip.
-Pearl Street Grill will host Rock For Food, a benefit concert for the Food Bank of WNY. Two stages, one inside, the other outside, as well as raffle and silent auction. Lineup includes Scott Celani Band, Rob Falgiano Band, Dee Adams, New Clear Fusion, Mo Porter, Melissa Kate, Chris Maloney & Vinnie Derosa. Admission is $6, or $4 with non-perishable food items, all proceeds go to FBWNY.
Saturday, September 5th
-Kayak the Buffalo Harbor all weekend. There are still slots open for
the 10 AM tour, tickets are $25.
-Sail aboard the Spirit of Buffalo. They begin their Fall sailing schedule Saturday, and continue through October 4th. Call for a reservation at [716] 796-7210. They also offer sailing education courses.
-The Buffalo Barbershop Bookstop Program begins with participating barbershops in Buffalo. Nine locations will provide children’s books at their stores. A free family book reading is scheduled for 4 PM at the East Delavan branch of the Buffalo and Erie County public libraries with Mayor Brown, Buffalo firefighters, Sabretooth and more.
–The National Buffalo Wing Festival kicks off at 12 PM! Tickets are $5. Sample the best wings in Buffalo and from all over the country as national restaurants come to compete in this festival honoring the world’s greatest food; wings. Noon to 9 PM Saturday, and noon to 7 PM Sunday.
-10 PM, Nietzsche’s at 248 Allen Street will host Jazz Funk Fusion Summit featuring Rishon Odel Power Trio, Vinnie de Rosa, and Gruvology.
Sunday, September 6th
-Free Yoga classes in Buffalo harbor at 10 AM for beginners and 11:30 AM for intermediate participants.
-Head to the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society this Sunday at 12:30 PM to take part in the next Pan-American Exposition Walking Tour. September marks the anniversary of the shooting of President William McKinley on exposition grounds. $10.
