Stop, Look and Listen is a poetry series that takes place on the third Saturday of each month from 2PM until 4PM at the Impact Artists Gallery, 2495 Main Street (in the Tri-Main building.) There is at least one feature each month, with fifteen slots for open readings.
The Stop, Look, and Listen poetry series is co-hosted by Lynn Ciesielski who has been writing and performing her poetry in Buffalo for many years and has recently released a CD of her work. Ciesielski will host the next reading with Marek Parker on September 19th from 2 to 4PM, and Jane Sadowski on October 17th, from 2 to 4PM.
Ciesielski, a former Buffalo school teacher, took an early retirement this year, which gave her more time to pursue her passion for poetry and allowing for more public readings of her work. She performs about once a week at EM Tea Coffee Cup Café at 80 Oakgrove Street as well as the Impact Artists Gallery series.
Ciesielski has been published locally and nationally, appearing in Gary Earl Ross’ Nickel City Nights Collection of Erotica and has a poem being published online in an upcoming issue of The Sleephealth Newsletter.
Her compact disc, Through Fractal Eyes, which she produced last winter with composer Odell Northington, is available at Rust Belt Books on Allen Street, Talking Leaves on Main Street, and The Comfort Zone Cafe on Elmwood.
