Something Cool for Restaurant Week: Dundee Ale Oktoberfest

For too long, wine had been hogging the spotlight.  Restaurants told you which wine paired best with which food.  We beer drinkers were left in the dark.  But then the day came when someone noticed that delicious craft beer could achieve a great relationship with food in exactly the same way wine could. 

As Jason Drewniak of Dundee Ales and Lagers said, “It’s beer’s turn.”

So when you go to Buffalo Restaurant Week September 21st to the 28th, you might see Dundee’s Oktoberfest on the menu.  It’s full bodied, sweet, and malty.  “Heavy,” if you want to simplify it.  And it matches well with heartier fare, like steak and potatoes, a lamb dish, or even Mexican food. 

Dundee is brewed in Rochester and distributed only in New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.  Here in Buffalo, you can find it at Wegman’s, Tops, Consumer’s Beverage, and bars such as Cole’s and WJ Morrissey’s. By the glass, in six-packs and in a 12-bottle craft packs Dundee offers an entire rainbow of delicious beer-y goodness.
