Have you ever dreamed of tasting the glamour
and excitement that oozes out of Bryant Park in the crisp February air in New
York City? Catching a glimpse of
the season’s hottest fashions before they hit the streets? Sitting next to fashion icons like
Sarah Jessica Parker or Eva Mendes, comparing notes on how to interpret these
trends into your own signature look?
Maybe it’s just me.
But if any of the above fantasies tug at your
inner Posh or Becks, you are about to get some great news: in a few short
weeks, RPM Entertainment Productions will present the
first-ever Mercedes-Benz of Buffalo Fashion
Weekend
here
in our fair Queen City, September 19 and 20 at the Buffalo
Niagara Convention Center.
On Saturday, September 19, a flurry of
designer fashions will hit the runway at 7:30 p.m. (doors at 6:30), including Bebe,
Banana Republic, Trina Turk, Metro Park, Lucky Brand Jeans, White House Black
Market, Cache, TT New York, Ann Taylor, GUESS and Lu Modern Classics. On Sunday, September 20, it’s shopping
day. All attendees at the runway
shows will receive a shopping pass with discounts and promotions from
participating Fashion Weekend sponsors. Tired of life on the D List and ready to move on from Kathy
Griffin? Sign up to be on the event’s “A List” to receive exclusive details and
discount codes and get the most out of your fashion experience.
The runway shows will
feature 30 models from Exxcel Model & Talent, an elite agency
based in Buffalo with offices in New York City, Boston, Miami and Dallas. Interested in seeing if your walk is as
strong as Naomi’s? Your inner
Ferocia Couture can be unleashed.
Enter a chance to “Be a Model For a Day” through Exxcel – but you’d
better be ready to work.
Not yet putting on
your Minolos? Let me continue. Like all red carpet events–and if Anna Wintour
has taught us nothing else–entrances are everything. Upon arriving to Saturday’s fashion shows, guests will be
welcomed with sparkling wine to get their senses revving. During intermission,
taste from a variety of white wines provided by Passport Wine & Spirits. For
those of you who prefer the Lindsay Lohan approach to Fashion Weekend, there
will be a cash bar as well. The event will also feature Mercedes-Benz and Smart
Cars from Mercedes-Benz of Buffalo and other exhibitors, as well as a live
performance from recording artist Michael Prince.
Event coordinator
Lauren Byrd says, “We’re really excited. As far as we know, this is going to be
the biggest fashion event that this city has ever seen. We have gorgeous models
from Exxcel and we’re increasing excitement over Buffalo fashion and pride in
what our city has to offer. And with RPM handling the production elements, you
know it’s going to be good.”
