As called by a number of local media outlets, Mayor Brown has won the Democratic primary against rival Mickey Kearns. With 95% of the districts reporting, Brown leads Kearns 62% – 38%. Brown has 22,238 recorded votes while Kearns has 13,839. The 8,399 vote differential is impossible to make up with just 5% of the districts left to report.
With no Republican on the ballot in November, this primary victory ensures Mayor Brown will be re-elected to another term as Mayor of Buffalo.
