You want
to vote in this September’s primary, right? And you want to feel good
about your choice.
Right now,
we’re looking at race that involves the current mayor and his challenger, a
councilman. Respectively, Byron Brown and Mickey Kearns have each done some amount of
good for Buffalo. At question is whether Brown needs another 4 years to
continue progress, or if Kearns could do a better job.
If you
believe that each incoming mayor has his/her share of screw-ups to adjust from
the previous administration, and is sure to make of his/her own mistakes and accomplishments, do we
stick with the current mayor, or do we give Kearns a chance to give it a shot from the mayor’s seat?
Word around
town has Brown as a shoo-in, though Kearns and his supporters are hopeful. As one person pointed out: Remember the
Hillary factor! Remember when
Clinton thought she had the race for presidential nominee sewn up before our
current president took over the polls.
This is the classic story of the Tortoise and the Hare.
Can our
current mayor make you feel good about a win, default or otherwise? Do you have faith in Kearns? And take a look at this week’s poll; we
repeat–Where is the debate?
Look for individual podcasts this week from each candidate. Kearns is already taped, but Mayor Brown’s was postponed today because he is with the families of the fallen firefighters.
