Come see
beautiful and ridable pieces of art at “HOGS & Hubbard.”
Recently, a
photo was found (below) of Elbert Hubbard, a major proponent of the Arts &
Crafts Movement and founder of the Roycroft, riding a 1913 Yale motorcycle. The
discovery inspired the event, which will benefit the restoration of the famous
artists’ community.
On Tuesday,
August 11th, admire the craftsmanship of custom motorcycles and hot rods at
“HOGS & Hubbard” from 6 PM until 9 PM at the Historic Roycroft
Campus (31 South Grove Street in East Aurora).
The Roycroft
Inn will serve Bar Bill Tavern chicken wings and sausage from Spar’s European
Sausage Shop. Taste the Roycroft’s signature micro-brewed beer, “Hammered
Copper Ale,” for the first time. The ale, brewed by Tim Herzog of Flying
Bison Brewing Company and dressed with an artist designed label, was created
specially for the event.
Also, enjoy
live Blue’s by the Rod Nickson Project and try your chance in the raffle to win
a leather covered motorcycle helmet designed by Roycroft Artisans, The Hitchin
Post.
The cost is
$30 per person. All proceeds will fund restoration of the Roycroft, a National
Historic Landmark and home to the country’s famous Arts & Crafts campus.
Come show
off your ride and support the Roycroft.
For
reservations, please call 716.655.0261 or visit the Roycroft Campus Web site.
