This Weekend in the Queen City

Here’s a brief listing of what’s happening this weekend in Buffalo. 
On Friday, July 3rd…

Buffalo Tours presents “Queen City Downtown,” a guide through beautiful, historic landmarks with stories from knowledgeable tour guides. The journey begins at the Visitor Center, located at 617 Main Street, at 10 AM. The cost is $10 ($5 for students). 

The College Street Gallery Co-Op, located at 244 Allen Street, will open its July exhibit from 8 PM until 10 PM. Works by various artists will be displayed until August 1st. 

Megan Callahan will perform live at Merge, located at 439 Delaware Avenue, from 10 PM until 12 AM. 

Club Diablo, located at 517 Washington Street, presents “Bettie Page Night” as this month’s dance event theme. Dress up in pin-up style clothing, and win a prize for the best “Bettie” costume. The party begin at 10 PM. Ages 18+ with I.D.
Buffalo Big Print, located on 78 Allen Street, will host a group show from 6 PM until 8 PM as a part of “Allentown 1st Fridays.”

On Saturday, July 4th…

Buffalo Tours presents “Queen City Saturdays,” a guide through downtown landmarks with stories about Buffalo’s history. The tour begins at the Erie Canal Harbor next to the Naval & Military Park Store, located at Pearl Street and Marine Drive, at 2 PM. The cost is $10 ($5 for students).

This weekend, Buffalo Tours will host another guide through historic Black Rock. The tour begins at 10 AM at Amherst Street and Niagara Street. The cost is $10 ($5 for students). 

On Sunday, July 5th…

Neighborhood Tour Series will take guests through West Village. The tour begins at Johnson Park and South Elmwood Avenue at 2 PM. The cost is $10 ($5 for students).
Cruise along the Niagara River on the Miss Buffalo. Boarding begins at 10 AM at the Miss Buffalo dock, located at 79 Marine Drive. The cost is $20 or $15 for members of Buffalo Niagara Riverkeeper or Preservation Buffalo Niagara. For reservations, please call 716.852.3300 or email

The first annual Chalk Off!, a sidewalk mural event, will take place at Thin Ice, located at 719 Elmwood Avenue, from 11 AM until 5 PM. Participants must bring their own chalk, supplies and creativity. Register at
