The Elmwood Village will soon be home to an additional set of storefronts. Artisan/craftsman
Julian Deganis, owner of Inlight Art Glass, is in the process of switching the gallery/studio entrance from Anderson Place to Elmwood. That means that, essentially, the commercial district will have two more storefronts added to its portfolio. Julian first mentioned this idea to me a couple of years back. After a while I thought the dream had died… until last week when I noticed some serious work being performed on the structure’s foundation.
Ultimately Julian realized that the foundation work was going to require a serious overhaul to the building. He figured that if he needed to do all the work to the foundation, why not build out new storefronts on the Elmwood side? Smart move considering that this is a fairly hi-profile corner on the street, and one that most people don’t really pay too much attention to when shopping. Thankfully, that’s just about to change. Plus, in addition to Inlight Art Glass, there will be room for one more shop to move in. At this point, more shops means more diversity and more shoppers to support the rest of the restaurants and retail.
