If you like coffee, awesome food, and great music that 2nd Cup Cafe is the place for you. It is located at 36 Broadway, right on the corner. It is a fairly new place, but already has a very homey feel to it. It is a wonderful place to relax, meet friends and enjoy some delicious food. They serve breakfast of all kinds, sandwiches/wraps, soup, salad, deserts, smoothies and of course excellent coffee. They also offer live music on certain evenings. I’m positive you will not regret your experience.
On Thursday, July 9th, the local band GRUVOLOGY will be performing from 6 to 9PM. I was able to get in touch with the bands piano player, Walter Kemp, who is very excited to be playing at 2nd Cup Cafe and says it will be a great show. He personally loves the cafe. Gruvology labels their music as jazz fusion, a wonderful mix of jazz improve, rock and roll, and pure musical talent. “We want our music to be a full experience, something the audience can truly feel and relate to,” says Kemp. They are trying to spark new life in jazz culture around the area, and they’re on the right track. They have a great music sense and truly love what they do. They promise to put on one hell of a show Thursday, so check it out.
In addition, the band is coming out with a new CD in August along with a DVD. They have added a new member and instrument for the show and CD, saxophonist Andre Killian. The band will also be performing at the Masten Jazz Festival in Buffalo (July 19th), and at the Lewiston Jazz festival (August 30th). For more information on the band visit their site on myspace. Support Buffalo music (like the 2nd Cup does), and check them out!
