One of our favorite writers, David Steele, has just informed us that his book Buffalo: Architecture in the Forgotten Land is available through the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society’s Museum Shop and Talking Leaves Book Stores.
For those of you who value immediate gratification, Steele’s book is waiting for you in soft cover at both locations, and has also been included in the BECHS library in hard cover. According to Steele, hard cover editions can still be ordered through blurb.com and by “bugging book store owners to carry it.”
Steel has given us countless treasures through his writing and slideshows that feature a seemingly endless supply of Buffalo architectural images, and now you have the ability to leaf through his book at your leisure, enjoying photos Steele has amassed since his high school days.
Though no one has mentioned this before, each of the photographs would do nicely framed as a gift. Start now (with an armload of small black frames), and your Christmas list could be fulfilled by fall, but be sure to buy extra copies to give whole!
