Ellicott Development has had a busy day. The developer not only finalized the sale of three units at Waterfront Place, the firm also purchased a vacant church property at 1091 Main Street. Ellicott’s 9274 Group Inc. bought the Our Lady of Lourdes parking lot, convent and school from Prayer & Praise Fellowships Inc. for $370,000. The purchase did not include the vacant church located on a separate parcel north of the site.
The two-story rectory and three-story school total just under 30,000 sq.ft. on a .63 acre lot. This stretch of Main Street has seen a significant uptick in developer interest lately. The site is on the edge of the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus and the Midtown areas.
Ellicott Development recently completed renovations on a three-story, turn-of-the- 20th-century building at 1010 Main Street (above). Kaleida Health opened an out-patient care facility in the building. Ellicott has also begun work, end-use unknown, on the larger building at 1028 Main that once housed Bryant and Stratton’s city campus (below).
Ellicott’s plans for the property are not firm, but told The Buffalo News that he “plans to develop the property for other uses” and “is working with a couple of possible occupants for the school.”
