Here’s a brief listing of what’s happening this weekend in Buffalo.
A staged reading of “All About Eve” will be performed at Buffalo United Artists Theater, located at 119 Chippewa Street, at 7:30 PM. A $25 general admission fee will benefit the BUA.
Shanghai Red’s “Summer 2009 Music Series” begins this weekend, presenting National Recording Artist and Buffalo Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame member Terry Sullivan with the Low Lamp Session. This free show starts at 7 PM at Shanghai Red’s, located at 2 Templeton Terrace.
Buffalo Tails, co-sponsored by Buffalo Tours and Companion Animal Network (CAN), is a hour and a half dog walk and tour of the city’s landmarks. The tour starts at the Puppy Playground, located at 431 Ellicott Street, at 7 PM. Registration begins at 6:15 PM.
Tiffs Nature Preserve presents a summer symphony, “Sounds of the Night.” The concert begins at 8:30 PM at 1200 Fuhrmann Boulevard.
The Eclectic Improv Company will celebrate their 11th anniversary with a performance with Toronto’s Bad Dog Theatre Company at Shea’s Smith Theatre, located at 658 Main Street, at 8 PM.
Buffalo Tours will host Queen City Saturdays, a tour through downtown’s beautiful, historic landmarks. The tour begins at 2 PM at Erie Canal Harbor next to the Naval and Military Park store.
Southern Exposure, another Buffalo Tour event, will guide guests through South Buffalo’s neighborhoods and rich history. The tour begins at 10 AM at Seneca Indian Park near Buffum Street and Fields Avenue.
CEPA Gallery, located at 617 Main Street, will hold a reception at 7 PM for the opening of three solo exhibitions. Works include “Retail and Dark Stores” by Brian Ulrich, photographs by Justine Kurland, and “Many Moons” by Alice O’Malley. Admission is free.
After Dark Events presents Combichrist with guests Julien-K, Aesthetic Perfection and Dismantled. The concert begins at 8 PM at Town Ballroom, located at 681 Main Street. TechNoir Events will host an after party, featuring DJ Arcatek and DJ Cryotek, until 4 AM.
The Buffalo Central Terminal will celebrate its 80th anniversary, featuring music by WNY musicians, food from Potts Deli and beer from Flying Bison. The party begins at 5 PM at the terminal, located at 495 Paderewski Drive. Admission is a $5 donation at the door.
A Neighborhood Tour Series will visit the Ashland and Norwood area. The tour will meet at 2 PM in front of the Unitarian Universalist Church, located on Elmwood Avenue and West Ferry Avenue.
The Buffalo Tours will take guests through the city’s “Millionaire’s Row,” a National Historic District of mansions along Delaware Avenue. The tour begins at 10 AM at Delaware Avenue and North Street.
