Construction is winding down on Uniland’s $85 million redevelopment of the former Dulski Federal Building, rechristened and reimaged and now known as Avant. According to Uniland, the massive conversion is the “largest clean recycling project in Western New York history.” It also houses WNY’s most expensive condominium units. This new jewel in the Queen City’s crown, designed by Stieglitz Snyder Architecture, does not disappoint.
There are a total of five office floors in Avant. Damon Morey LLP, the city’s third-largest law firm, is the building’s anchor tenant with nearly 200 staffers occupying the 11th and 12th floors.
Construction workers are busy completing the 150-room Embassy Suites Hotel located on the building’s first seven floors. The hotel is scheduled to open next month.
Work on the 28 condos on the top three floors is on track for completion this fall. To date, 13 of the units are sold, several priced at over $1 million. Avant tenants and visitors will have access to four hotel restaurants, a fitness center, in-office catering, valet parking, and more.
The 16-story tower glimmers in Buffalo’s bright sunshine, a welcome presence on the downtown skyline.
A date has not been set for the official opening of the striking edifice, but if you’re interested and have Facebook, look for, “Avant – A New View on City Living,” where you can stay on top of the latest project news.
