What do you think of when you picture Rob Ray? He’s probably grappling with another giant man, he’s lost his sweater, he’s throwing haymakers, and he’s quite possibly smiling for the entire duration of the bout. That’s Rob Ray. The same Rob Ray notorious for pummeling other large, well-trained professional athletes. Putting all fears aside, some of the areas best comedians (most of whom have the physical stature of jockeys) have promised to deliver a multitude of blows to Ray’s ego. From the Rob Ray Rule to that horribly misguided Nordiques fan who didn’t know when to quit, no subject is sacred.
The show will also feature guest appearances from Sabres Andrew Peters, Matthew Barnaby, and many more.
The event is $25, and all proceeds go to the Sabres Alumni Scholarship Fund which is awarded to chosen high school seniors in Western New York and Southern Ontario who meet academic qualifications and plan on attending university full-time. It also marks the 3rd anniversary of the Doin’ Time Comedy Showcase and will signify the jumping off of BuffaloComedy.com, Buffalo’s new comprehensive guide to live comedy in our city.
Asbury Hall is located at 341 Delaware Avenue. Tickets can be purchased through Tickets.com and at Tops Friendly Markets.
