The Food Bank Of Western New York is getting a unique boost from local musicians, with a 25-hour marathon concert. Starting at noon on June 22nd on the steps of Buffalo City Hall, and ending June 23 at 1 PM, Tunes4Food is free of charge and open to everyone.
Event organizer Bob James is a veteran of several local music groups and has made strides to use his gift to better our community at the grassroots level. His work includes “War Is Over,” “Music In Action,” “This Is It” and “Buffalo Classic Rock.” His programs led him to create the very ambitious Tunes4Food.
“President Obama addressed the nation in the same manner, speaking of grassroots community-based service projects,” James said. He hopes knowledge of his event spreads through word of mouth and makes a serious impact on those in need.
As of right now, the performers for the event will be from both the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame and current Buffalo music scene, but the roster is yet to be finalized. We will provide updates as they come to us.
A Food Bank of Western New York truck will be on-site for the entire 25 hours, so feel free to bring your food items by and enjoy the music.
