South Buffalo will soon be home to a new vintage clothing store, the Vintage Roadshow, opening on June 1st at 1826 South Park Avenue. The store specializes in pieces from the 1800s through the 1980s for women, including dresses, coats, hats, belts, shoes, purses and other accessories. “I have lots of gorgeous inventory that I’d love to see worn by the women of Buffalo,” said Denise DeGemmis, the store’s owner. Men’s items may also be available upon request.
For its first week, the store will be open from 10AM to 5PM Monday through Wednesday; 1PM to 7:30PM Thursday and Friday; and 10AM to 4PM Saturday. After the initial week, the store will be open by appointment in an effort to keep prices as low as possible. Shoppers can set up an appointment to peruse the store or even set up a private party with some friends to have the store all to themselves.
From June 1st through June 5th, the store will also sell all of its pieces for extra-low prices — either $5 or $10, depending on the item! “In these tough times, I am happy to offer reasonable prices on wearable vintage,” DeGemmis said.
Fashion has been in DeGemmis’ family for generations. “My grandfather was a tailor who came over from Italy in the early 1900s. He started DeGemmis Clothiers in 1939 and the rest has grown from there,” she said. DeGemmis moved to Buffalo six years ago and has spent four years gathering classic finds and gaining a client base. She said she’s proud to be opening a vintage clothing store in Buffalo.
The store may also buy or trade your vintage pieces. For more information on the store’s products or to set up an appointment, call 716.238.0948 or send DeGemmis an e-mail.
